When ordering metal deck, there are four things to consider: type, gauge, finish and quantity. Michael Polizzi, sales Mmanager, explains that it’s important to know the type: “A”, “F”, “B” or “N” roof deck, the gauge or thickness of the deck, the finish either prime painted gray or galvanized, and the total square footage needed to complete the project.

Matching existing decks requires knowing the dimensions of the existing deck. Michael also shares, “If you’re trying to match or nest into an existing metal deck, it’s critical to know the exact dimensions of the existing deck.”

There are four dimensions to consider when matching new deck to an existing metal deck: the depth of the deck, rib to rib dimensions, dimensions of the flute, and the style of sidelap, whether it’s nesting or interlocking.
