Preferred Vented Ridge Material for Metal roofing

Hello,  I'm seeing different approaches to ridge venting for metal roofs.  Primarily the vent material that is between the ridge cap and the metal panels. Like vented closure foams (Profile Vent, etc.), wire mesh or perforated metal, etc.   Just wondering what others prefer using, and why.   My neighbor installed metal roof on his workshop and used Closure Vent CV3 from Home Depot and was really happy with the installation.  Anyway, just trying to make sense of all the possible options out there in the market.
